My dear Parishioners,

It is at times like this that I wish we were sitting somewhere quietly so we could talk – really talk - about perhaps the greatest gift that Jesus Christ left for us - the SACRAMENTS.

You know, the Sacraments really have various levels of depth. This is because the meaning and experience for every person is so personal and unique.  But the truth is that Sacraments are the SOURCE AND SUMMIT CELEBRATIONS of God's love for us.  Sacraments really do become mystical actions in our lives.

Think about this!  Every single time you participate in a Sacrament, three very exciting things
happen….whether you are aware of it or not…this is what happens:
  1. You celebrate the LIFE THAT JESUS CHRIST LIVED HERE ON EARTH!
  2. You celebrate the LIFE OF OUR CATHEDRAL PARISH COMMUNITY!
  3. You celebrate God’s promise of peace that will come to pass and REIGN THROUGHOUT THE WORLD for every man, woman and child in the KINGDOM OF GOD.
How can someone NOT be excited about these truths?

As your Pastor, please know that your Cathedral parish wants to celebrate the lives of you and your family – from birth until that very moment when God calls you home to that special place He has reserved for each one of us in heaven.  I invite you to come and be a part of the celebration of faith here in your parish.  Our parish needs you and your gifts – the gifts that will be poured out upon you and each person in your family through the beautiful SACRAMENTS.

If you or someone you know is ready to begin the process to receive one of the Sacraments, be assured that we are here to help you along the way.  Refer to the links below for more specific information about the Sacraments celebrated here at the Cathedral.  After reading the information, don’t hesitate to contact us if you have more questions.

One more thing,PLEASE come and introduce yourself to me after Mass.  Meeting members of our parish family brings me such joy!

God bless you.
Very Reverend Chester C. Arceneaux, VF, Rector of the Cathedral
